Dear Diary - scrounging through the rock pools and shallows of the low tide it's easy to be thrown off balance and completely disconcerted by some objects at first glance...severed hands are not the sort of thing one expect to find nestling in amongst the seaweed. After the initial shock, a closer look and a few tentative pokes with a piece of driftwood it became apparent that it was only an old rubber glove that had been lost at sea for a long enough period of time to become sand filled and encrusted with flecks and whorls of various forms of marine-generated plaque
